What We Don’t Say is a 5-episode fiction reading unit designed for 8th grade ELA. Each episode connects to the next, forming a continuous narrative that allows students to follow a developing storyline rather than work through isolated passages.
The story centers on Ethan as he begins to question what he has been told about his family. As the episodes progress, new details emerge through dialogue, memory, and silence, requiring students to pay close attention to what is stated and what is left unsaid.
